St Paul’s Knightsbridge โ›ช๏ธ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽถ

Not only an interesting early Victorian church in the posh neighbourhood of Knightsbridge, St Paul’s is also a regular venue for concert and recordings by BBC Radio 3 and other musical groups. The church is the perfect recording venue for the BBC Singers, who perform there regularly, especially for their sacred music programmes.

The church was founded in 1843, under the auspices of the Oxford Movement, the precursor of Anglo-Catholicism. This was the first church in London to celebrate religious ritesย under the principle of the Movement, although always within the boundaries of the Anglican Church of England. Today the church is still faithful to the vision of its founding fathers.

The interior decoration of the building has seen some additions over the years, notably the ย tiled panels around the walls of the nave and the chancel with its rood screen, added in 1892.
