My favourite composers ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ›๐ŸŽถ

There are many composers I like best, among them Mozart, Vivaldi and Debussy, but Chopin is by far the musician I feel closer to, for musical sensibility and artistic expression. I loved studying and playing his compositions and I enjoy listening to my collection of his creations, interpreted by many great pianists, from Martha Argerich to Arthurย Rubinstein, from Maurizio Pollini to Ivo Pogorelich.

Antonio Vivaldi, the Red Priest, here depicted wearing scarlet red clothes. In reality his nickname was most probably due to the colour of his hair, a characteristic family trait.ย I and many more naturally associate his music with Venice and its lagoon.

The expression of the prolific music genius par excellence, Mozart’s music is everybody’s favourites for the creativity and brilliance it conveys. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an absolute sensation as a child prodigy, although his fame deteriorated fast, when he became an adult, not because the quality of his music was less sensational.

Claude Debussy

His music is associated in my mind with the paintings of his contemporaries and the freshness of their brushstrokes. His innovation in music is similar to what the impressionists brought to the world of art but he was not comfortable with the description of his music as impressionist.

Franz Schubert

A short yet very prolific life as a composer, primarily of piano or voice compositions. A typical personality of the Romantic period with high sensitivity and powerful passions.

Piotr Ilich Tchaikovski

His ballet music is most memorable for its delicate yet passionate and energetic tones. A real delight to see it interpreted on stage by great dancers.

Varsavia รจ strana, certo comunista nell’architettura, eppure migliora di anno in anno.

    Buona giornata e buona musica!
