Increasing multicultural aspects in Berlin also translate into a myriad of different restaurants with cuisines from around the world. As a foodie into marine flavours, I have found also some nice seafood restaurants with fresh produce from the Baltic or local freshwaters.

With an outside terrace for the good season, a varied fresh fish bar to choose from and simple but delicious preparations, Seaside restaurant at Gendarmenmarkt in central Berlin is a great attraction for seafood lovers. No surprise this has definitely become my favourite seafood restaurant in Berlin.

When in Charlottenburg, in the area around the Berlin Zoo, I quite enjoy Wartesaal, an Italian restaurant which has a varied menu of pizzas and other main courses, with a good service. During the good season one can also sit outside and enjoy the vibrancy of the area.

Wald Cafe is a very lovely local cafe in Moabit, serving some great cooked breakfast or brunch dishes in a cosy ambience, with attentive service and moderate prices. My favorite brunch is this fantastic cheese and ham omelette that comes with a fresh salad, a fresh and spicy sauce, some olives, toasted bread and some fruit slices. A real treat for a yummy weekend!
