In my photographs there are very rarely people, so photos with inanimate objects, still life photography, are certainly among my favorite photographic subjects. The food I prepare or eat in a restaurant is certainly a popular subject on my Instagram profile too. Perhaps there is not a great artistic and creative research in photographing what is being served to us on a plate. Somehow this reflects and makes less fleeting the everyday and banal pleasures to which we normally pay attention only for a few minutes, before consuming what we have in front of us briefly.

Most of the time the chef in the kitchen has applied time and skills to present us a dish that deserves some more attention than the few moments before satisfying our appetite. A lot of care has normally been put into creating something that satisfies not only our palate but also our eyes, which is the first of our senses affected by a dish filled with food that has arrived under our sight. My food photography wants to capture that moment of surprise and appetite stimulation that is triggered by a nicely presented dish of food, and its surroundings.

All of my photos are shot with the camera embedded in my iPhone so I have a piece of equipment in my hands that is relatively limited in its technical capacity. These days mobile phone cameras have evolved so dramatically that one can take good quality photographs just making use of the features at our disposal on the phone screen. I also do not edit my pictures after the shooting, that means I really have to make the most of the incisive moments I have between when a dish lands in my table and the time I feel to urge to eat it,
