My favourite restaurants in Apulia in 2022 🍽❤️👢

Seafood is a great source of inspiration in Apulian cuisine

Apulia is one of my regular destinations when I go back to Italy, so these are also good opportunities for me to enjoy local cuisine and great dishes of the Apulian cooking tradition in the restaurants I like. Here are my reviews of my favourite restaurants, normally specialising in seafood, in the towns I visit regularly:

Ristorante Opera, Bari

Close by the newly restored Teatro Piccinni and in the middle of the Murat Quarter is one of the best seafood restaurants in Bari, the Ristorante Opera. With a great choice of warm and cold starters and a good variety of creatively prepared seafood, this restaurant is perfect for a business lunch or a dinner with friends. Dishes are inspired by the rich Apulian tradition and revived with creative touches by five star chef Lello Lonigro.

Chez nous, Bitonto

This is a newly opened restaurant, that has been launched with an impressive start in Bitonto. Chez nous is a real treat with dishes prepared and presented with great care with carefully selected local ingredients. We need more restaurants in Apulia like this one!

Pescheria Con Cottura, Lecce

Very close by the main square in Lecce, Pescheria Con Cottura offers an amazing their favourite seafood to be cooked and served at the table. During the good season it is possible to sit outdoor at the many tables on the outdoors terrace.

Jamantè, Polignano

Elegant and sophisticated both for its ambience and the refined cuisine, Jamantè is a new and very promising gourmet restaurant in Polignano. Surely something to watch out for future developments and deserved awards,

La cantina del mondo, Monopoli

La cantina del mondo, the cellar of the world, is a new gourmet restaurant in Monopoli, with refined cuisine and excellent service. Born from an initiative of a group of enterprising young people, under the guidance of chef Marco Calzolaio, this restaurant will surely establish itself as an excellent place to enjoy Apulian cuisine with an international accent.

Ristorante Nobilnonna, Polignano

Great care in the choice of ingredients, excellent customer care and a focus on fresh high quality seafood make of Ristorante Nobilnonna in old Polignano a hidden gem. Very strongly recommended!

Al Moletto, Taranto

Fresh seafood and friendly customer care make of a meal at the Al Moletto a great experience for seafood lovers in Taranto. The restaurant is nested on the tourist harbour and is always a great treat, whether for a business lunch or a romantic dinner.

Black & White, Bari

Saint Peter’s Fish Fillet braised with Potatoes, Olives, Cherry Tomatoes and a Red Cabbage Sauce created by chef Daniele Caldarulo at Black & White Restaurant, one of the best seafood restaurants in Bari for quality of food and service.

Cascipò, Brindisi

Great customer care and fresh local products are the signature traits of Cascipò, a hidden gem in the old town of Brindisi. Set lunch offers also available.

Carboni Ardenti, Foggia

Close by the railways station in Foggia, Carboni Ardenti is perfect for a lunch tasting a variety of grilled meats and local appetisers, including a yummy bruschetta. Special lunch offers are normally available.
