My favourite travel destinations
The attraction to travelling is probably inherited from previous generations of my ancestors who have travelled for work, more than pleasure, and must have planted in me the seeds of the curiosity and the sense of adventure I feel as an inseparable part of my way of living. If I stay for too long just in one place I start feeling uncomfortable and eager to move around to get a feeling of what is beyond the boundaries of what is know to me at that given time. It must be linked to having been travelling since my pre-natal period and getting some ancestral pleasure out of it.
Vast uncontaminated landscapes, multitudes of wild animals and vivid colours of vibrant cultures are the fascinating trademarks when travelling across Africa. It is a trip to the essence of nature and to the origins of mankind.
I love exploring European cities, even if simply for a long weekend, and discovering hidden corners that resonate with my interests in food, history, literature, art history and music. My most recent prolongued visit has been to Berlin, where I had not been for a while. To my surprise, the city is turning into a very pleasant place to roam around and to discover at leasure. At the top of my list of favourite cities in Europe there are of course obvious choices like Paris, London and Venice but other places are attracting my attention too.

My first visit to Myanmar, last May, was the opportunity for a closer encounter with a country and a culture I always wanted to explore more but did not have the chance to visit. Before the change of regime and the opening of the country to the outside world and tourism, it was challenging to get tourist visas to appreciate the many marvels offered by Myanmar.
A continent stretching from the North Pole to Antartica and showcasing the whole range of environments the world can offer. My preference goes to the bits in the middle with their irresistible tropical beaches and vibrant local culture.
