The amazing heights of the highest building on earth, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, seen from the Dubai Mall. Designed by the American architect Adrian Smith and measuring a total height of 829 m this architectural wonder has been the tallest building in the world since 2009, its completion date.

With its iconic design by architect Renzo Piano the The Shard is becoming the most recognisable landmark in London. With a total height of 309 m and its elegant beauty this is the highest building in Western Europe since 2012.

Built to last just for the duration of the 1889 World Fair, the Eiffel Tower became the unmistakable and lasting iconic presence to symbolise Parisian elegance. It was designed and constructed by engineer Gustave Eiffel in wrought-iron to the height of 324 metres, at the time the tallest man-made structure in the world.
